Be part of a dynamic development team responsible for business-critical SCADA system operating 24/7 to ensure the real-time balance of the organization’s power perimeter across Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
This assignment is part of global program, that aims to implement a new SCADA platform based on AVEVA System Platform / OMI for real-time steering of industrial assets.
You will work on this program by designing solutions that support real-time decision-making and interaction with Power Dispatch, Energy Management, and Transmission System Operators (TSOs). These solutions help continuously balance production and consumption within our portfolio, while supporting the stability of the grid.
Context
- Support real-time control of production assets, including renewable and flexible assets
- Provide integrated automation solutions for Remote Dispatching Centers
- Translate operational needs into SCADA solutions that remain aligned with the Group-wide harmonization program and its target AVEVA System Platform / OMI platform
- Integrate new flexible assets, such as renewable power plants and Battery Energy Storage Systems
- Continuously adapt systems to evolving energy market mechanisms
- Enable automation of decision-making processes to support ancillary services delivery
Your specific role
The current SCADA landscape is evolving towards a new standardized platform based on AVEVA System Platform / OMI. In this context, we are looking for an AVEVA Expert Engineer who will actively contribute to the implementation, configuration, testing and support of the future SCADA platform.
The consultant will work as an integrated member of the development team and participate in all engineering phases, from technical analysis to production deployment.
The role is strongly hands-on and requires a consultant who enjoys building solutions, solving operational issues and delivering production-ready applications.
As a senior AVEVA expert, your responsibilities will include:
- Development & Configuration
Develop, test and maintain applications based on AVEVA System Platform
Implement ArchestrA object templates and instances
Develop OMI visualisation content
Create and maintain ASP scripts
Configure industrial objects and data acquisition structures
Participate in software design activities
Contribute to technical estimations and implementation planning - Tests & Validation
Execute functional testing activities
Support FAT and SAT activities
Validate modifications before deployment
Support troubleshooting during commissioning phases
Contribute to quality improvements and defect resolution - Integration & Operations
Configure and maintain System Platform environments
Configure Historian integrations
Integrate OPC, Modbus TCP and IEC-104 communication layers
Perform troubleshooting and log analysis
Participate in operational support activities
Contribute to production incident resolution - Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with dispatchers, analysts and developers
Participate in Agile / SAFe ceremonies
Contribute to technical documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Share knowledge and lessons learned with the team
Requested profile
Education & Experience
- You have a master's degree with a specialization in IT and/or electrical engineering (e.g., ingénieur civil, burgelijk ingenieur, industrial engineer, in software, electronics or electromecanics)
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience on Aveva System Platform in industrial production environments
- Experience gained through close collaboration with AVEVA, AVEVA-certified organisations, recognised AVEVA ecosystem partners, or equivalent organisations will be considered an asset
- Proven experience in development and maintenance of operational SCADA platforms
- Experience working directly with operational teams

- Your office will be at the organization’s location in Linkebeek, Belgium
- A minimum presence in the office of 3 days per week is required. Work@home is allowed for the remainder of days, if possible depending on the assignments you will be working on.
- Flexible hours apply, with a workday that starts no later than 09:00 and does not end before 16:00.
