Nemo Link Limited (NLL) is the commercial 1000 MW High Voltage Direct Current electrical interconnector between Belgium and Great Britain, owned 50/50 by the Elia Group and National Grid. NLL manages a big asset with high revenues and a very material P&L with a small team (35-40 people).

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Commercial Performance Lead to join our team. The role holder will report into the Commercial Strategy & Performance Manager and be part of the commercial team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving and optimizing commercial operations, contributing to the continued financial success and operational excellence of Nemo Link. Key responsibilities

Commercial Performance & Revenue Optimization

  • Lead the UK Capacity Market prequalification process and oversee the successful delivery of all associated commercial obligations.
  • Manage Nemo Link's long-term capacity sales planning, product offerings and commercial outcomes.
  • Monitor the performance and correct execution of daily commercial operations, resolving issues, proactively identifying risks, anomalies and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead the overload optimization process and identify opportunities to maximize interconnector value capture.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of auction revenues, customer bidding behaviour, product performance and market outcomes.
  • Benchmark Nemo Link's performance against market developments and industry best practices to uncover new sources of commercial value.

Market & Commercial Analytics

  • Support on Nemo Link's Revenue Forecasting Platform and drive its ongoing development and forecasting capabilities.
  • Contribute to market consultations, regulatory assessments and stakeholder engagement activities.

Commercial Stakeholder Management

  • Validate revenue settlements and commercial calculations with key market partners, including JAO, Elia and NESO.
  • Deliver executive-level reports and performance insights to the Management Committee, Board of Directors and shareholder representatives.
  • Coordinate initiatives across commercial, finance, regulatory, operations and ICT teams to ensure successful implementation of strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in commercial analysis, financial modelling or a related field within the energy sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).
  • Capabilities/experience in or willingness to learn SQL/Python
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Energy Markets, Business Analytics or a related field, combined with experience in commercial analysis, electricity markets, trading, market operations or revenue optimization.
  • Demonstrated written/oral fluency in English

Additional information

  • Start: ASAP
  • 1 year contract initially (extendable)
  • Work regime: Monday to Friday
  • Most people are based in GB (Warwick office, Richborough Converter station) but we have also an office in Brussels and a converter station close to Bruges.
  • Hybrid way of working (1-2 days/week in office)
  • Location: strong preference for the candidate to be based in Belgium but not essential.
  • Occasional travel could be required between Belgium/GB.
